I watch hell on wheels...

It's just about the only other cowboy show and you might like it. It's an AMC show and I give anything AMC does a chance. The problem in a nutshell is me comparing it to Deadwood and that it is not. It's also still ongoing.Comments need to be listed as Unverified or Verified, Verified comments need to be accompanied by an "Official Source" link. Message Boards are not an "Official Source".

Obama releases statement on Zimmerman Verdict! Blames the gun! Says we should honor Trayvon!

Obama is clearly mourning the decision of the jury in today's statement. "But we are a nation of laws, and a jury has spoken Emoji" he said. Additionally he appeared to blame the 'tide of gun violence' on the decision of George Zimmerman to defend himself against Trayvon's attempt to grind his head against the ground. And, according to Obama, we can 'honor' Trayvon by doing something about the 'gun violence' in the nation.

Boy, has Obama clearly missed the point!

Here's the full statement:

"The death of Trayvon Martin was a tragedy. Not just for his family, or for any one community, but for America. I know this case has elicited strong passions. And in the wake of the verdict, I know those passions may be running even higher. But we are a nation of laws, and a jury has spoken. I now ask every American to respect the call for calm reflection from two parents who lost their young son. And as we do, we should ask ourselves if we're doing all we can to widen the circle of compassion and understanding in our own communities. We should ask ourselves if we're doing all we can to stem the tide of gun violence that claims too many lives across this country on a daily basis. We should ask ourselves, as individuals and as a society, how we can prevent future tragedies like this. As citizens, that's a job for all of us. That's the way to honor Trayvon Martin."

Henry Melchior Muhlenberg

MUHLENBERG, HENRY MELCHI.OR (1711-1787), German American Lutheran clergyman, was born in Einbeck, Hanover, on the 6th of September 1711. When he was twelve years old his father, a member of the city council, died. The son entered the university of Gottingen in 1735, and his work among the poor of Göttingen led to the establishment of the present orphan house there. In 1738 he went to Halle to finish his theological studies; he was a devoted worker in the Franckesche Stiftung, which later served as a partial model for his great-grandson’s community at St Johnland, Long Island. He was deacon at Grosshennersdorf, in Upper Lusatia, in 1739?1741. In 1742, in reply to a call from the Lutheran churches of Pennsylvania, he went to Philadelphia, and was joined from time to time, especially in 1745, by students from Halle. Muhlenberg occupied himself more particularly with the congregation at New Providence (now Trappe), though he was practically overseer of all the Lutheran churches from New York to Maryland. In 1748 he organized the first Lutheran synod in America. Muhlenberg married in 1745 Anna Maria Weiser, daughter of J. Conrad Weiser, a well-known Indian interpreter, and herself said to have had Indian blood in her veins; by her he had eleven children. Throughout the War of Independence he and his sons (see below) were prominent patriots. He died at Trappe on the 7th of October 1787. The importance of his work in organizing and building up the American Lutheran Church, of which he has been called the Patriarch, can hardly be exaggerated; but his example in preaching in English as well as in German was, unfortunately fo.r the growth of the Lutheran Church, not followed by his immediate successors. He had no sympathy with the Old Lutherans and their strict orthodoxy?on the contrary he was friendly with the Reformed congregations, and with George Whitefield  and the Tennents,-1911 Encyclopedia

Mark Sanchez: 'Not a big deal' that Geno Smith skipped Jets West

Mark Sanchez: 'Not a big deal' that Geno Smith skipped Jets West, On Friday, we delivered the hard-hitting news that Geno Smith wasn't appearing at Jets West, Mark Sanchez's voluntary, offseason training camp in California.Well, we learned later in the evening that Sanchez doesn't think Smith's absence is -- *gasp* -- "a big deal.""We invited everybody, we emailed everybody, we do it every year," Sanchez told the NFL Network from his training camp. "I sent out an email to everybody. Some guys got back quicker than the others, but everybody was invited. It's not a big deal that he is not here."Of course it's not a big deal that Smith no-showed Jets West. It's the offseason. It's voluntary. It's run by his direct competition.Smith and Sanchez don't have to be BFFs or, um, Fs. (That might not be how the kids do it.)As noted on Friday and as confirmed by Sanchez, he was the only quarterback out there."We've had other quarterbacks; this is the first year we haven't had other quarterbacks," Sanchez said. "Greg McElroy's been here before, [Matt] Simms was here last year, Tim Tebow, who you might have heard of, has been here, Mark Brunell has been here, Kevin O'Connell has been here."If Geno comes or doesn't come, it is not a big deal. I don't hold it against anybody who's not here. Some guys are getting married, some guys are going on vacation, some guys are doing stuff, so it's totally optional. And it's a big sacrifice -- you got to leave your family, you got to leave what you're doing, wherever you're from. So I totally understand. It's not a big deal."Maybe Sanchez didn't even want Smith there. Geno is, after all, Sanchez's competition, too. Regardless of whether the two guys like each other and regardless of whether or not Geno has a legitimate excuse for missing the camp (not that he needs ones), it's always nice to know we can count on the Jets for a little offseason drama.

Biografia,Ann Rutherford(Atriz)
