Senior Pakistan official admits to presence of Dawood Ibrahim - India

10 Aug 2013Senior Pakistan official admits to presence of Dawood Ibrahim, then does a U-turn Senior Pakistan official admits to presence of Dawood Ibrahim, then does a U-turnDr Sanjay Kumar Cardiac Cardiothoracic Heart Surgeon India Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim (File pic)London: For the very first time, a senior Pakistani official admitted on Friday the presence of India's Most Wanted, underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, on their soil."Dawood (Ibrahim) was in Pakistan but I believe he was chased out of Pakistan. If he is in Pakistan, he should be hounded and arrested. We cannot allow such gangsters to operate from the country," Shahryar Khan, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's special envoy for improving relations with India, had said. But perhaps, worried about the ramifications, Mr Khan downplayed his statement just hours later. shahryar-khan-295.jpgDr Sanjay Kumar Cardiac Cardiothoracic Heart Surgeon India "I have never, not in the past as foreign secretary, not now, have known where Mr Ibrahim lives. I was only reflecting what the Pakistani press has been saying. I have no knowledge nor is it my remit," he told NDTV in London. Pakistan till now has denied the presence of Dawood on its soil, though Indian security agencies have repeatedly mentioned his name and details in dossiers handed over to Pakistani authorities.  According to reports, Dawood was based in Karachi, where he had fled after the 1993 Mumbai bombings in which 257 people were killed and over 700 injured. Dawood is also wanted in numerous other terror and criminal cases in India. In 2003, the US government had designated him as a "Foreign Terrorist". According to the chargesheet filed in the Indian Premier League spot-fixing case, Dawood was in Pakistan at least till late April. The Delhi Police had intercepted telephonic conversations between Dawood, his close aide Chota Shakeel and others in Dubai which show his location was in Pakistan. In the chargesheet, the Delhi Police had attached a list of addresses suspected to be used by Dawood. In Karachi - Moin Palace in Clifton and 6/A, Khyban Tanzeem in defence housing area. In Islamabad, he is believed to have stayed in a house on Margella Road.  Syed Akbaruddin, Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs said India has never closed the 1993 blasts case and now, with this information, the government will not rest until those responsible for the killings of Indian citizens in the attack are brought to justice. This comes at a time when foreign policy experts are redefining redlines with Pakistan and talks between Prime Ministers of the two nations are under the cloud after the killing of five Indian jawans at the Line of Control earlier this month.

Beyoncé Brings Out Mr.Carter To Preform Hit Track "Tom Ford" At Her Mrs.Carter Show In Brooklyn.

Beyoncé Brings Out Mr.Carter To Preform Hit Track "Tom Ford" At Her Mrs.Carter Show In Brooklyn. Jay Z pops up for a performance of his song "Tom Ford" at Beyoncé's last Brooklyn show on the Mrs. Carter tour! Welcome back to Musiq Nation. Third Ward Trill has come back out to play, Beyhive! On August 5th Beyoncé wrapped up the first U.S leg of her world tour in Brooklyn at the brand new Barclays Center. It was Queen Bey's 3rd show in New York this week, and her subjects were all wondering: where the heck is our Hov cameo? Low and behold, during her performance of song "Bow Down", Jay Z appeared to preform his new tune off "Magna Carta Holy Grail" called "Tom Ford". Beyoncé in her black and gold jersey dress outfit and animal hat, was grinding through "Bow Down" with her backup dancers when she stopped mid song. The man that makes her Mrs. Carter appeared from the left and took over the stage. At first Beyoncé strutted away from Jay as he came toward her. Bey eventually plopped down on the side of the stage to sit and watch her man do his thang. She grooved in her seat while chilling on the side as he rapped his way through the song, which, by the way features Beyoncé as her hip hop alter ego "Third Ward Trill" on backup vocals. T.W.T. sang along to the "Tom Ford" song and Bey finally got up to end the song next to Jay where they danced together. The couple snuck a hug and a kiss before Jay ran off stage and Beyoncé continued performing her song "Bow Down". It's always a treat to see the Mrs. And Mr. together on stage! I wonder if they'd ever go on tour together? Hmm, just a thought. Check out the clip down below to watch the full performance from Brooklyn's finest

Detroit is Paying Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr a Quarter Million to File for Bankruptcy

By: Black Liberal Boomer/politicususa

The surprise is not that Detroit is filing for bankruptcy. The road signs have been pointing toward this conclusion at least since Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr took the job – and the leash – offered to him by Gov. Rick Snyder.

Strike that.

Detroit has been headed toward bankruptcy for years, because Detroit’s accounts have been screwed for years. Management of Detroit’s finances has been the equivalent of a shell game for quite some time, so those who say that the bill has come due are correct on that point. I am 100 percent opposed to Orr’s appointment, and I will never stop saying that his presence here is illegitimate. Gov. Snyder’s decision to disregard the will of his own voters and force them to accept an EM was nothing short of criminal.

But it would be a lie to say that Orr is responsible for the bankruptcy. As a matter of fact, I suspect the only reason he didn’t move to file on his first day behind the desk was because he had to at least appear to be trying alternative strategies. Strategies like offering to take Detroit’s creditors on a bus ride through the Detroit ghettoes so they could see firsthand how bad things are here. And then, after a good cry, find it within their hearts to forgive all debts because surely no creditor would have the heart to collect on a debt after seeing that the debtor is having a hard time, right?

Yeah. Strategies like that. Well thought-out strategies. Brilliant strategies. Strategies that make it so wonderfully clear why Michigan is paying this man Orr his $275,000 salary; to offer bus rides to creditors. And then, when the creditors decide they’d rather not take the ride because they don’t want their pictures taken and because they would have to sign a form that basically lets the city off the hook in case they get shot or killed or whatever (because, after all, they were going to the ghetto and chances are they would indeed stand out just a tad), then Orr moves forward on what was most likely the plan all along.

Funny thing is, we really didn’t need to pay Orr all this money to file bankruptcy. I’m pretty sure that’s a course of action our own elected leaders could have figured out how to do on their own. And once the bankruptcy is in place, once again, why exactly do we need Orr? Because we’re the biggest municipality to file bankruptcy means we need an emergency manager to make sure everything goes OK?

From the Detroit Free Press:

If the judge authorizes the city to move forward with a Chapter 9 bankruptcy case, Orr would propose a plan of reorganization. This could take weeks, months or years. Bankruptcy court allows the city to restructure its operations and its balance sheet. This could involve budget cuts, layoffs, consolidation, the sale of assets, slashing union contracts, selling assets and dramatically reducing city debts, including outstanding bonds.
The city will attempt to win support for the reorganization plan from creditors, including secured bondholders, general obligation bondholders, unions and pension boards. If the city wins enough support, the plan would be put to a vote — and with enough support, the city could emerge from bankruptcy. Without enough support, the judge could tell the city it must continue to negotiate with creditors.

In other words, we might not even be approved for bankruptcy, which means we’d be back to square one. And since a sizable number of creditors have already signaled they don’t exactly plan to swallow the numbers that Orr  has been trying to feed them then it’s all but a certainty they’re gonna take this fight to the mat. Maybe they’ll prevail, maybe they won’t, but didn’t I tell you this was gonna get real ugly?

Maybe it’s just me, but I thought Orr’s purpose was to be our salvation. To save us from ourselves. To make a way out of no way. For a quarter million dollar salary I damned sure expected more than this, even if he did sign on to assist Gov. Snyder in stealing democracy from his own citizens. You mean to tell me there isn’t even honor among thieves anymore?

In a tweet today, Orr said, “We’re changing the culture of entitlement here in Detroit, Michigan.”

By filing for bankruptcy? Really?

No, Kevyn. Last I heard, we’re still entitled to a democracy. That’s the thing about theft; the rightful owner doesn’t mind putting up a fight to get back what’s rightfully his.

Uruguay abortion law will not go to referendum - MiamiHerald.com

http://ifttt.com/images/no_image_card.png

MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay -- The most liberal abortion law in South America withstood a challenge Sunday as Uruguayan opponents failed to attract enough votes in a consultation ballot to force a national referendum on repealing it.

The law authorizing elective abortions in the first three months of pregnancy was narrowly passed by Congress in October, and independent groups and some members of the right-wing Colorado and centrist National parties have been campaigning to overturn the measure.

Opponents needed 655,000 voters, a quarter of Uruguay's electorate, to cast ballots Sunday calling for a referendum. But with nearly all votes counted late Sunday, the electoral council said on its website that only 226,653 people participated.

Feminist groups and abortion-rights advocates celebrated.

"The fact that it wasn't enough for a referendum clearly shows that the Uruguayan society is willing to continue moving forward," the activist group Woman and Health said in a statement.

Passage of the law was widely seen as a landmark for a region in which many countries outlaw abortion in all circumstances. Other than Uruguay, only Cuba and some local governments make early abortions accessible to all women.

The governing Broad Front coalition of President Jose Mujica argued that the law would save many women from the risk of death or complications from illegal abortions.

"I want to defend the law because this issue has been debated for almost 100 years and many women paid with their lives," lawmaker Monica Xavier said on the Broad Front's website before Sunday's results were announced.

Opposition to the measure remains strong, however. Dozens of doctors have refused to perform abortions for religious or ethical reasons.

"This is not an issue that only pertains to women," said National Party congressman Pablo Abdala. "We can't forget about the conceived (baby) ... with organs, DNA, a heart. And then there's the father. This law doesn't take into account the opinion of the father."

Several Uruguayan celebrities and sports figures participated in radio and television spots ahead of the consultation ballot urging people to vote to require a referendum that would allow "profound discussion to reach a decision that truly represents the majority."

About 20 feminist organizations and unions waged a counter-campaign using the motto "I won't vote. What about you?" They argued that a ban would not curb abortions, but only keep women from getting proper care.

About 400 abortions a month have been conducted since the law took effect, Deputy Health Minister Leonel Briozzo said.

It's unclear how many were carried out before the law.

"We don't have trusted statistics because it is a social practice that is not accepted and up until recently it was a crime," Constanza Moreira, a ruling-party lawmaker, told local radio.

About 45,000 babies are born each year in Uruguay, which has about 3.2 million people.

Several polls say Uruguayans are roughly split when it comes to abortion, and abortion-rights proponents had to make compromises to pass the law. Those include a requirement that women justify their request for an abortion to a panel of at least three professionals - gynecologist, psychologist and social worker - and listen to advice about alternatives including adoption and support services for a child. Women must then wait five days to reflect on the decision.

Cuba, which allows abortions in the first 10 weeks of pregnancy, is the only country in Latin America where legal abortion is common. Argentina and Colombia allow it only in cases of rape or when the mother's life is endangered. Colombia also allows it when there is proof of fetal malformation. Mexico City has legalized first-trimester abortions, but there are restrictions in most other parts of that country.

Anybody Want To Ask A Question Thursday Night

It's relatively clear where the preponderance of the State Delegation representing Prince William County stand with regard to the Bi-County Parkway, particularly as has been evidenced by the attendance and statements at several meetings held locally and in Richmond.  What is not so clear is where the Loudoun delegation stands and given their votes on the Transportation Bill last session, I would suggest they may not be opposed to the Bi-County Parkway.  That being said, one has to wonder whether they will attend Thursday night's VDOT presentation at Creighton's Corner Elementary School and let their positions be known. Should they chose to attend perhaps one of the more hardy souls in the crowd should ask them about the campaign contributions they have reported in 2013 alone and how those contributions relate to their votes in favor of the Transportation Bill and whether or not those contributions will "influence" their position with regard to the Bi-County Parkway.  Here's some select data to look at.Joe May Campaign Contributions 2013$15,000 Majority Leader PAC $10,000 Commonwealth Transportation PAC $7,500 Nova Technology Council $5,000 Howell for Delegate - William $5,000 Va Transportation Construction Alliance $2,500 John T "Til" Hazel, Jr $2,000 Transurban USA Inc $1,250 Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce $1,250 Nova Building Industry Assn $1,000 Associated Builders & Contractors - Va Chapter $1,000 Associated General Contractors $1,000 Dewberry & Davis $1,000 Northern Virginia Assn of Realtors $1,000 Old Dominion Highway Contractors Assn $1,000 Parsons Brinckerhoff $1,000 Toll Road Investors Partnership II $1,000 Va Assn of Realtors $1,000 Va Trucking Assn Total $58,500Tom Rust Campaign Contributions 2013$10,000 Sidney O Dewberry $10,000 John T "Til" Hazel, Jr $5,000 Eleanor C Hazel $5,000 Majority Leader PAC $5,000 Nova Technology Council Herndon$2,000 Northern Virginia Assn of Realtors $2,000 Nova Building Industry Assn $1,000 Home Builders Assn of Va $1,000 MC Dean Building Intelligence Inc $1,000 Gary D Rappaport $1,000 Va Assn of Realtors Total $43,000Tag Greason Campaign Contributions 2013$10,000 Commonwealth Transportation PAC $4,472 Va Assn of Realtors $2,500 Majority Leader PAC $2,500 Nova Technology Council $2,300 Northern Virginia Assn of Realtors $2,000 Toll Road Investors Partnership II Total $23,772

Vokoun helps lead the Penguins to victory

After his poor performance in Game 4, Marc-Andrew Fleury was benched in favor of Goaltender Tomas Vokoun who filled the net tonight during Game 5 against the N.Y Islanders.  This is the first time since 2001 that Fleury did not start in net for the Penguins during the playoffs. Vokoun managed to play an exceptional game, blocking all 31 shots for a shutout game.  With a performance like tonight it would be smart to put Vokoun in net more often during these playoffs. The Pittsburgh Penguins sent a message tonight as they claimed the lead in their series 3-2, with a 4-0 shutout.  The Islanders came into Game 5 with a high confidence from their win in Game 4. With a scoreless first period this game looked like it would be decided in over time. The Islanders were determined to limit the scoring abilities of the Penguins; they were very physical with the Penguins star players.  The Islanders outshot the Penguins (14-7) during the first period but it never amounted to much. Finally in the second period Tyler Kennedy got the puck into the net and the arena went wild as the Penguins opened up scoring late in the game. Resilient and pressing the Penguins follow-up with another goal by Douglas Murray 1:20 minutes later. The Penguins turned this game around in the second period; claiming Game 5 as theirs, attempting to take back this series. Sidney Crosby makes contact with the puck and scores, creating a 3-0 lead for the Penguins.  At the end of the second period the Islanders and the Penguins were tied at 25 shots on goal. Early in the third period Letang scores furthering the lead for the Penguins 4-0.  Regardless of the Islander goaltender swaps the team can not recover from their four point deficit. The Islanders dominated the first 20 minutes of this game; they just did not have the control to make anything happen. After the Game 1 shutout it did not even appear that the Islanders would make it to Game 5 and now as Game 6 approaches it still appears to be anyone’s series. The Penguins now lead the series 3-2 with the pivotal Game 6 on Saturday; if the Penguins win they could face the Ottawa Senators in round 2.  In order for the Penguins to make it to the second round they need to have consistent goaltending, improve 5-on-5 play, control their emotions and puck control.   The Islanders are younger, relentless, physical and faster; the Penguins will have to work hard to win this series.

Lohan wants out: Lindsay Lohan wants to leave Betty Ford because of drug ban

Lohan wants out: Lindsay Lohan wants to leave Betty Ford because of drug ban, Lohan has made sure to point out that she has a prescription and that she takes her Aderrall for ADHD -- she probably wants the public to know that she doesn’t abuse it to lose weight like some celebrities do. However, those pesky doctors at The Betty Ford Center believe in using drugs to treat ADHD that aren’t addictive like Adderall, and they probably aren't so sure that Lindsay just takes the drug for her attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.Unfortunately Lindsay is a very spoiled celeb -- the amount of jail time she’s served and and her trips to rehab are just slaps on the wrist when you look at how much trouble she’s gotten in over the years. Since she always gets off easy, of course she’s going to think that she can do whatever she wants in rehab. But surely the judge will have something to say after learning that Lindsay Lohan wants out of one of the best rehab treatment centers in the country. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James Dabney is the man responsible for ordering the actress to attend 90-days of locked-down rehab, and of course he wants the actress to take her treatment seriously so he never has to see her in his court again. However, it sounds like Lindsay thinks that her stay at Betty Ford is nothing but a joke.Lindsay recently told Piers Morgan this about rehab: “I could write the book on rehab. Constantly sending me to rehab is pointless. The first few times I was court-ordered to rehab it was like a joke, like killing time.” So even if Lohan is forced to give up her Adderall while she spends 90 days at Betty Ford, it sounds like rehab is going to do her no good yet again. She’ll just pout the whole time and go right back to partying and getting in trouble once she gets out.Sometimes people have to hit rock bottom before they decide to really turn their lives back around, and Lindsay just isn’t there yet. Even though she keeps getting into trouble and is rumored to be a nightmare to work with, she keeps scoring jobs, and she’s never punished severely enough for her crimes. Because of this she seems to think that she can always get off easy and that the rules that everyone else has to abide by don’t apply to her. It also doesn't help that celebrities are able to surrounding themselves with the worst enablers out there -- some pretty horrible people are attracted to fame, and they'll do and say whatever they have to in order to spend time with a celebrity. So it's really no shock that Lindsay thinks that she can get away with continuing to take an addictive drug while she’s in rehab.
