Princess Di out on the town

Princess Diana has had a few busy days!  On Thursday night, we did a Paws in the Streets event in Old Town Alexnadria.  Dr. Katy led our group up and down King Street so we could talk to people and show off our adoptable dogs.  4 dogs were adopted.  Princess Diana walked very quickly the whole way.  She has a lot of endurance. On Friday, we had our first LDCRF/Pacers 5K of the season.  We're doing these races the first four Fridays in August at Bluemont Park.  At the race, people can bring their dogs to run with or borrow one from the rescue.  I wasn't sure that Diana would be up for it, since I've never tried to run with her, but I loaned her out to someone who was planning to walk/run the race.  When Diana passed the water stop, she was trotting along.  The runner reported that Diana actually went at a good steady clip and probably could jog the whole 5K.  So, we'll try that next week.
